Non-commissioned night shelters, provided by mainly independent faith and community groups are an important part of the jigsaw of homelessness accommodation in England and are the primary means by which people outside of the reach of mainstream services are provided with emergency accommodation in England.  

As part of Housing Justice’s work build support for the trustees of these services, we have commissioned governance resources to assist Night Shelters to put the principles of good governance into practice. These resources aim to support the development of organisational vision, mission, clarity of purpose and effectiveness.

Good governance enhances organisational reputation and ensures better results are achieved.
