Yesterday, Housing Justice joined the Ministerial Steering Group on Rough Sleeping, bringing the experience and priorities of our members and partners into discussions about the `Rough Sleeping Programme` - the Prime Minister`s mission to end rough sleeping.

It was a wide-ranging conversation, covering the need for effective prevention, move-on and long-term solutions as well as the immediate action to support more people this winter. Housing, policing, healthcare and hospital discharge, prison release and immigration were all raised.

We emphasised the importance of the often `non-commissioned` voluntary faith and community sector - asking that more is done to make sure that the voluntary, community and faith sector (VCFS) has a seat at the table for decisions taken locally. Many of our members have said that they`d be willing to do more, but access to the available funding through local authorities is often opaque and inconsistent.

We will continue to advocate on behalf of our members and wider network, ensuring that sustainable, long-term funding for the VCFS and its meaningful involvement in local planning are recognised as essential components of a successful Rough Sleeping Programme.
