Each year, we support all winter night shelter projects to provide impact data so that this information can be aggregated and presented to the government to lobby for national policy change and investment in the network. With the data you and other Shelter Projects provide us we can see trends across the country, target resources and a make a case to policy makers for change on common issues across the Winter Night Shelter Network.

We can’t predict the future, but we know that data will remain a powerful tool for the network to demonstrate its impact, and where and why people are not getting the support they need to keep them from sleeping rough. More than ever, it is vital we understand the picture of rough sleeping and the overnight provision, and other support, provided by faith and community groups across England and Wales.

The Impact Portal 2021/22

The Impact Portal is now open for submissions for Winter 21/22 relating to the period from 31st October 2021 to 31st March 2022.

Here is what you need to know:

  • It doesn’t matter if you did not provide accommodation this year, we still have some questions for your project.
  • There are more new questions this year, so we recommend taking a look at them before you open the Impact Portal. You can review all of the questions in advance here.
  • We estimate this should take about ten minutes if you have all the answers prepared and to hand.
  • We’re asking for data for the period from 31st October 2021 to 31st March 2022. If your project opened before, or closes after this date, we only want data from between these dates.
  • If your project closes before 31st March 2022, you can submit early.
  • You have until the end of April to submit your data, submissions received after this point may not be counted in all our analysis.

When you are ready, please open the Impact Portal linked below & submit your data. If you need any further support or have any questions, you can request a short Data Call and we will help you as best we can.
