October is Free Will Month and Housing Justice is offering a free will-making service to supporters who would like to leave a lasting gift to Housing Justice in their will.

So have you got your house in order?

Is making a will one of those jobs that you never get round to as you think it will be too time consuming and expensive?

This October you can make your will for free from the comfort of your own home, either online or over the phone, with plenty of support and advice available from our trusted partner, Fare Will, if you need it.

Too many people in England and Wales don’t have a place to call home this October, and we are working hard to put an end to that. Remembering Housing Justice in your will helps us to continue our life-changing work and enables us to further develop our vital projects, so that we may better serve and support more individuals on their journeys out of homelessness.

How To Leave A Gift In Your Will

It's easy to remember Housing Justice in your Will

There are two main ways to support us with a gift in your will: you can either gift a small percentage of your estate or a set amount of money depending on what suits you best. Each legacy has a significant and lasting impact, even smaller sums are very gratefully received, and it’s worth remembering that while a set sum loses its value over time, giving a percentage of your total estate does not. To leave a legacy to Housing Justice, simply ask your solicitor to include the following wording.

→ For giving a percentage of what you’ve got (legally known as a “Residuary Bequest”):

“I give £… of the residue of my estate to Housing Justice, The Foundry, Unit 2.11, 17 Oval Way, London SE11 5RR (Registered Charity Number 294666) for its general purposes.”

→ For giving a set amount of money (legally known as a “Specific Bequest”):

“I give to Housing Justice, The Foundry, Unit 2.11, 17 Oval Way, London SE11 5RR (Registered Charity Number 294666) the sum of £… for its general purposes.”
