This is a Shelter in a Pack

When it comes to the name, we hope that this document is exactly what it says – a Shelter in a Pack. The main document is almost 120 pages long, thoroughly researched and comprehensive.

The main Shelter in a Pack is not intended as the sole resource for new Shelters, and is most effective when Housing Justice is able to guide a new project through the process. Without this additional support, it is easy to see how the task ahead of a new project could seem overwhelming.

We have made it available to the wider Network, as it may be something that established Shelters wish to dip into, either to test what they already have in place, or to develop it from scratch.

An incredible amount of work has gone into creating this document, and will continue to go into maintaining it. We therefore ask that any copies of it downloaded are kept solely for the use of the Shelter with membership to our WNS Network.

The Data Protection and Adult Safeguarding Supplements have been kept outside the main body of the report as we recognise these areas are most likely to be of wider interest to existing Shelters, not just those in the process of setting up.

Data Protection Templates

The Data Protection Policy Supplement is intended to be used alongside the templates below.

Standalone Policies & Procedures

In addition to the content of the main Shelter in a Pack, the following standalone policies and procedures have been developed and made available for Shelters to sample if they need them.

Standalone Templates & Forms

We have also developed a large number of forms and templates for a variety of different uses.
