Housing Justice has been granted £1,045,598 over three years from MHCLG

Bonnie Williams, Chief Executive of Housing Justice welcomed today’s announcement of further Government funding for the homelessness sector:
“We are pleased to announce that Housing Justice has been granted £1,045,598 over three years from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government’s (MHCLG) National Workforce Programme to help our network of more than 130 shelters and day services around England develop their provision and workforce through training and capacity building.”
Our Executive Director, George Butler, also said:
“Many of our network members operate in very difficult circumstances, providing support to the record levels of people experiencing homelessness and rough sleeping across the country. Through this funding we will be able able to continue to support them: to develop strong partnerships and have their voice heard and influence policy and practice at a national, regional and local, to develop high quality services through training and quality accreditation, to share knowledge and understanding through regular forums and communities of practice and to build resilience through support to access available finance.
We will be working alongside Shelter and Homeless Link to provide a comprehensive development and support offer which will provide voluntary, faith and community organisations with access not just to Housing Justice resources, but to those of other experts working in the sector.”
Homelessness minister Alison McGovern said:
“For people facing homelessness, the right help at the right time can be life‑changing.
“This money will strengthen both the people and organisations working to tackle homelessness and rough sleeping and will enable more staff across England working to prevent lives unravelling further.
“By backing these vital services, we are making sure more people are listened to, supported and protected at their moment of greatest need.”
