Last week, our Chair of Trustees, Bishop Rob, joined the Prime Minister’s rough sleeping summit at No. 10 Downing Street.

Bringing together charities, businesses, housing providers, faith communities and local leaders, the summit focused on lasting progress towards ending rough sleeping, with an ambition to get people off the streets by Christmas.

Bishop Rob said:

"The summit at No.10 was creative, ambitious and practical. It was clear from the tone set by the Prime Minister through his mantra of ‘names not numbers’ that this was a critical moment in ending rough sleeping, with a Government that backs this with extra resource. There was a vision presented of the need for a new collaborative approach involving Local and National Government, charities, faith communities and businesses. The round table discussions were aimed at shaping this collaboration, with an urgency of ending rough sleeping by Christmas, with the challenge that this was for us all.

From the discussions, Housing Justice is already playing its role, and remains well placed to help shape this strategic work, especially involving the grassroots members within our network. Thank you for the part that each of us will be playing." ...
