Homelessness Sunday Church Service

On Sunday 5th October, Housing Justice and Churches across England and Wales marked Homelessness Sunday which we hold each year on the Sunday before World Homeless Day.
As per usual, we compiled a range of resources for Churches wishing to hold their own service. These included suggested hymns, prayers and Junior Church Resources on our theme of ‘love thy neighbour’, as well as notes on the lectionary reading for the day, and information regarding what Churches can do to alleviate homelessness in their local communities.
We were pleased to once again be invited by the Church of England to record our own Homelessness Sunday for the Church of England online Sunday service channel, which is watched by 150,000 people around the world each week. We recorded our service at St Barnabas Ealing and our Trustee Rev Sarah Howard-Jones kindly led the service for us. One of our Citadel Co-ordinators, Lewis Lennon, and four guest from our London Hosting Project also took part in the service.
