Homelife: A New Chapter for Pippa

When Pippa joined our Homelife Project in February, she was facing an incredibly challenging time.
After spending months in temporary hotel accommodation and losing the job she had held for 15 years, Pippa felt uncertain about her future and lacked confidence in applying for new opportunities.
With support from one of our volunteers, Pippa created a new CV and took the next step by joining The Wallich’s Invisible Cities programme, where people with lived experience of homelessness train to become tour guides.
Just eight weeks later, Pippa graduated as a qualified tour guide and is now exploring exciting employment opportunities. She has also enrolled in further training with St Giles Trust to provide Advice and Guidance.
Pippa’s confidence has grown tremendously, and she is feeling optimistic about the future.

At Citadel, we know that resolving housing issues is only part of the journey. Our familial approach focuses on helping people build confidence, develop new skills, and reconnect with their communities so they can thrive as individuals and create brighter futures for themselves and their families. Pippa’s story is a wonderful example of what can happen when practical support is combined with opportunities for personal growth.
