Housing Justice Win the London Homeless Award 2024

We are delighted that our work has been recognised by the London Homeless Awards 2024.
Lucien Lawrence, our Special Projects Coordinator, has led fantastic work, developing a website that lists properties across London that accept people in receipt of benefits. This tool is an asset to the homeless sector, and to people searching for homes in a highly competitive and saturated market.
London Lettings Network aims to list good quality and affordable housing, helping as many people as possible find a home in a community where they can flourish.
At the Awards Ceremony, Judith Banjoko, Director of Services at Shelter, made a fantastic speech which depicts this work. She said:
“The Night Shelter Lettings Network is an extraordinary example of innovation and compassion in action. In a city as challenging as London, where accessing suitable housing is often fraught with obstacles, this project is creating real, tangible solutions. By bridging the gap between people at the sharpest end of the housing emergency and opportunities in the private rented sector, it’s offering hope, stability, and a fresh start to so many.“
With over 2,000 properties available at Housing Benefit rates, thorough quality checks, and a strong emphasis on sustainable tenancies, we have created a model that is both ethical and effective. To date, over 100 people have secured homes through this platform.
