About Robes

You can read about Robes on their website.

About the role

The Robes “Family” is a small but mighty team, who since 2007 in partnership with our amazing volunteers, have come together to help our homeless guests in Southwark and Lambeth, whose need for shelter, care, food, and support has never been greater.

Not only do we provide a rotating Winter Night Shelter for the coldest months of the year, but ongoing floating support for up to six months, ensuring further accommodation our guests move into is sustainable, and they are linked into the right supports to prevent recurring homelessness.

We welcome both current and former guests to become part of our community, providing the opportunity for a hot lunch, care packages and advice sessions through our Wednesday Club.  Whether guests or former guests come weekly, or only just come back for a bit of advice when they run into difficulty, we always provide a warm welcome and a friendly ear.

There are two main functions of this post – the administration component, and the communication component.

The purpose of the administrator component is to effectively support the day-to-day operations of the Robes team and be first point of contact for general enquiries.

The purpose of the communications component is to create and present communications about Robes to a wide audience through a number of different means, such as social media, newsletters and short videos.  This post will include interviewing / filming / photography of guests, volunteers and other supporters.

Occasionally, some evening or weekend work may be required.

This is an essential role which supports our team to achieve amazing outcomes for those experiencing homelessness, and showcases the work that we do.
