Community Connect will pair volunteers from local churches (‘Connectors’) with referrals who are at risk of returning to homelessness (‘Members’). Building on 15 years of experience providing supported accommodation with relational support, we’re launching the project initially in 3 locations with plans to grow considerably in the coming years. The National Lead will help drive the project whilst ensuring targets and budgets are met.

Hours: 32 hours per week, part time.

4x Shelter Relief coordinator - ASLAN

ASLAN Faith and Volunteer Network (FVN) Night Shelter 26/27 is an innovative project for individuals rough sleeping in Westminster, offering communal setting emergency accommodation. The shelter will run for a minimum of 6 months, from the beginning of October to the end of March, with a possible extension to the end of June.

We are looking for 4x Relief Coordinators who will support the Shelter Manager by covering all morning and night shifts, seven days/week for the duration of the shelter run.

Guaranteed minimum of 7 hours per week (requires regular early morning and evening shifts, including at weekends and over the Christmas and Easter periods).

Hours: variable, minimum 7h/w

Contract type: casual contract

Homelessness Support Services Manager - Open Door Exmouth

Open Door Exmouth is seeking an exceptional Homelessness Support Services Manager to lead and develop our growing homelessness and support services. This new senior leadership role has been created through the Government’s Ending Homelessness in Communities Fund and will play a key role in establishing our new five-day Support Hub in Exmouth.

Reporting to the CEO, the postholder will provide strategic and operational leadership across homelessness prevention, tenancy sustainment and wider support services. They will lead a team of staff and volunteers, strengthen partnerships across housing, health and community organisations, oversee safeguarding and quality assurance, and use data and outcomes to drive service improvement.

We are looking for a compassionate, resilient and values-led leader with experience in homelessness, housing, social care, community support or a related field, and a passion for helping people move from crisis to stability and hope.

Cafe Supervisor - Caritas Salford

We are looking to recruit a Café Supervisor to work in our busy open-door day centre in Hulme. Cornerstone Day Centre’s Community Cafe is attended by over 80 people per day, the Café Supervisor would support the smooth running of the café, helping to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.

The Café Supervisor will staff the welcome desk, maintaining a safe and sociable environment where people can socialise and improve their wellbeing. You will support people to volunteer, develop skills and engage in wider opportunities, signposting those who need additional advice or support from our specialist staff or external services. Additionally, you will induct, train and supervise volunteers attending the service and from the general community, for them to help run the café, this will include organising induction and training sessions, briefings, supporting volunteers to gain skills, and identifying and achieving their goals.

As well as overseeing the volunteers work ensuring they are following guidelines and working in accordance with Caritas’ safeguarding, health and safety and food hygiene procedures. You will be enthusiastic about using your hospitality and people skills to make a positive difference to people’s lives.

Additionally, you will have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as good IT skills. With the ability to take responsibility for delivering a high-quality service, prioritise and meet deadlines.

Hackney Night Shelter are looking for three new Trustees to help strengthen and grow our Board as we expand our reach and deepen our impact. If you want to make a meaningful difference locally and use your skills to support a charity with a clear mission and strong momentum, we would love to hear from you. We welcome applicants of all ages and backgrounds and are committed to building a Board that reflects the diversity of our community.

We are especially keen to hear from people who bring:

  • A deep understanding of homelessness, either through lived experience or frontline work
  • Expertise in finance, fundraising, HR, safeguarding or legal/administrative services

 

The Board meets quarterly with the Charity Director. Between meetings, trustees contribute to working groups such as finance, fundraising, premises or governance.

Time commitment: around 1–2 days per quarter
