Yesterday, our CEO Bonnie Williams joined partners from across London at the launch of the Mayor of London’s new Rough Sleeping Plan of Action, setting out a bold and necessary goal: to end rough sleeping in London by 2030.

This comes at a time when:
➡️ One in every 21 children in London is now in temporary accommodation
➡️ That’s one child in every classroom without a secure home
➡️ Over 65,000 households are in temporary accommodation - the highest figure on record
➡️ London boroughs are spending an estimated £4 million a day on temporary accommodation, leaving very few resources to support single adults at risk of or experiencing homelessness

This is a crisis that demands coordinated, preventative action.

We are delighted to see the Mayor’s continued commitment to partnership with organisations like Housing Justice, recognising the significant impact of community-based services such as:

🔹 Our Emergency Accommodation Network, supporting grassroots and faith-led shelters across London to provide accommodation and day services
🔹 Our Hosting and Refugee Lodgings projects, offering safe, supported homes for people who would otherwise face destitution
🔹 Our Citadel project, providing holistic, wrap-around support to help people sustain their tenancies and rebuild their lives

We welcome the Mayor’s leadership and echo his call to central government to step up, with:
🔹 Proper funding for councils and the homelessness sector
🔹 Improved protocols in providing a safety net for people
🔹 Investment in social and affordable housing
