Housing Justice is a small, highly influential national charity. Our work makes a huge difference to thousands of people across the country who are experiencing homelessness.

Our history of helping people stretches back to 1956. We are a relatively small charity in terms of income, but thanks to the efforts of our passionate, professional and highly-dedicated team, we have a disproportionately large impact in the lives of people affected by homelessness.
We’re driven to help as many people as possible
In the last few years alone we have:
- Helped over 1,000 churches to respond to homelessness in their area
- Facilitated the delivery of 78 new affordable homes, providing a decent, affordable home to over 180 people
- Provided a welcoming home to over 50 people who have been forced to flee from their home country
- Supported faith and community groups to provide over 9,100 beds for individuals who would otherwise be on the streets (in 2019/20 alone)
- Provided a wide range of support to thousands of individuals, including short + long-term accommodation, food support, preventative support for people recovering or at risk of homelessness, advice and advocacy for grassroots groups wanting to respond to homelessness and much, much more
Your gift will have a big impact
We value your donation incredibly highly and we pride ourselves on being as efficient and effective as possible, so that we may improve the lives of as many individuals as we can with the resources we have available.
- In 2018 we received the Gold Award from the Christian Funders Forum
- Compared to other similar projects, we have facilitated the delivery of twice as many affordable homes with the same level of funding through our Faith in Affordable Housing scheme
- In 2020, we were able to generate 50X more income than we spent on fundraising
- In 2020, just 2% of our expenditure was on fundraising and 98% spent on our charitable activities
To increase the impact of your generosity, your gift will be used where the need is greatest
N.B We will carry our reasonable due diligence checks on donors and companies where they may be seeking to give large gifts of £5000 or more, or in other circumstances where donations may seem out of the ordinary (for example where a donor might seek to attach conditions to their donation). In these cases, we will carry out checks using a checklist to identify risks and reach decisions on whether to decline or return donations.

How Should I Give?
Regular giving is the best way to support us in the immediate future, as it allows us to plan ahead, set more predictable budgets and forecast cash flow. It also reduces our administration costs, so we can be more effective and have an even bigger impact.
Remembering Housing Justice in your Will with a Residuary Gift is often the most effective way to support us in the long-term. You can learn more about this here.
We really couldn’t do what we do without you. Thank you for being a part of our community.
Leaving a Legacy
Leaving a legacy to Housing Justice is a lasting commitment to people affected by homelessness.
For those of us who cherish the virtue of Charity, it can be reassuring to know that we can continue providing life-changing support even after we leave Earth, by leaving a legacy gift to Housing Justice.
It’s also the perfect way to inspire the younger generation and to make a lasting gift to the community.
